2019 Service of Remembrance

On Sunday May 26th at 3:00 p.m., St. Helena's Episcopal Church will hold a Service of Remembrance, honoring those who have given their lives in service to our country, and featuring Requiem by Gabriel Faure.

All area singers who have sung this music before are invited to sing.  There will be one rehearsal, on Saturday May 25th, at 9:00 a.m..  If you're interested in singing with us, or would like more information, please email Whit Matteson, director, at choir@sthelenas.net

Plan to bring your own score.  We're using the Rutter edition, from Oxford University Press, but if you have a different edition, that's OK too.

Q. How long will the service take?

A. The whole service will take about an hour.

Q. How much does it cost to attend?

A. The service is open to all at no charge.

Q. Where is the "historic sanctuary"?

A. The Historic Sanctuary is the building attached the bell tower, on Main Street.  There are three entrances: at the base of the bell tower, at the top of the stairs in the Memorial Garden on Rock St. (there is also a wheelchair-accessible ramp there), or via the glass door entrance from the parking lot on Rock St.

Q. I want to sing, but I can't find my score.  Can I borrow one?

A. We don't have extra scores to loan, but they are readily available online. Try here or here.  You wanted a reason to get a new one anyway, right?

Q. I have more questions; who do I ask?

A. Send an email to Whit Matteson at choir@sthelenas.net.
