Sunday Sept. 13th
10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
418 FM 1621, Waring TX
St. Helena's is kicking off the Fall with an outdoor gathering that balances safety, ministry, and fun!
Take the scenic 15-minute drive to Camp Capers in nearby Waring to worship in the shade, eat a picnic lunch, play some games, reconnect with members of the parish family, and learn what is happening in ministries, formation, outreach, and worship this fall as we return to a modified congregational life.
Our Holy Eucharist worship service will begin at 10 a.m. on the Centrum (see below). Following our worship service, there will be games for all ages, a river for swimming, free T-shirts, ice cream & root beer for your personalized float, and more!
Dress is cool and casual. Bring your lawn chair, picnic basket, a jar of peanut butter for an outreach project, swimsuit & towel if you want to float in the river. Bring your kids or grand kids, and invite a neighbor! There will be a few lawn chairs available on site if you don't have one.
Driving directions to Camp Capers: Take I-10 West to the Waring exit (527). Follow the access road to FM 1621, by the large flag pole, just south of Comfort. Turn right on FM 1621 for four miles. The entrance to Camp Capers is on the left. Scroll down further for a map of Camp Capers, showing entrances,, parking, and where the Centrum is.
