"... my cup overflows..." (Psalm 23)

Here at St. Helena’s, we believe in God’s abundance. Even in this strange and difficult season, we know that we are blessed in so many different ways by our God who loves us. The cups of our lives are filled to the brim, and we want to overflow in service as we share the love of God with others. We want to give to others in the same way God has given to us. We want to do something abundant and extravagant — so we’ve decided to do not one outreach effort, but three! This Outreach Overflow will require our whole community, and we’re hoping to get 100% of our parish family involved.

How can you join our church-wide outreach effort? There are a few ways to get involved!

  1. Back-to-School for BISD: Going back to school will be different and difficult this year, and we want to provide school supplies for at-risk students here in Boerne to empower them in their education. We’ve bought the backpacks, and we need your help to fill them! Visit this link (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0544aaab23a1fa7-sthelenas) to sign up for particular items to purchase. Contact Dawn (dawn@sthelenas.net) for more information!
  2. Masks & Clothes for Wounded Knee: Since we can’t make our usual mission trip to Pine Ridge this summer, we want to help our sister church by sending them supplies. We are collecting used shirts and pants (in good condition). If you sew, we also want to send some hand-made face masks to their community. We will package this collection and ship it up to South Dakota. Contact Fr. Brian (curate@sthelenas.net) for more information!
  3. Chapter Books for our School: As St. Helena’s School grows, we want to build a library for our new class so that our kids can continue to read. We are collecting new and used chapter books, appropriate for kids from Second Grade to Sixth Grade. Contact Fr. Brian (curate@sthelenas.net) for more information!
  4. Donation: A financial donation will help us get backpacks, ship clothes, build bookshelves, and much more. Please label your donation with “Outreach Overflow”! Contact Ann (ann@sthelenas.net) for more information.

We invite and challenge you to choose one of these options and get involved. No matter how you choose to participate, you can drop off your blessings at the church on Sundays or at the church office during the week. While COVID-19 has changed some of the ways we “do” church, it has not stopped our mission. Let us continue to faithfully overflow, celebrating God’s abundance in love and service to others!
